ACADIA was formed in the early 1980's for the purpose of facilitating communication and critical thinking regarding the use of computers in architecture, planning and building science. A particular focus is education and the software, hardware and pedagogy involved in education.
The Foundation's purpose is to help people understand the importance of architecture in their lives and then use that understanding to enrich their lives and transform their communities.
Founded in 1940, the Society encourages scholarly research in the field and promotes the preservation of significant architectural monuments that are an integral part of our worldwide historical and cultural heritage.
